POSITION: Pharmacy Informatics Specialist

HOURS: 40 hours/week, 1st shift

REQUIREMENTS: The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist will oversee the development, implementation and monitoring of the Cerner Millennium PharmNet Pharmacy information system and associated Cerner Millennium clinical solutions deployed at the three Care New England (CNE) hospitals with the goalto maintain the highest level of efficiency and accuracy. The Pharmacy Informatics Specialist will work within the CNE Clinical Informatics Group to assess clinical process needs related to inpatient medication order entry and delivery and assist in developing appropriate system configurations to support those processes. Serves as team leader for software installation and upgrade projects, participates in development of business practices and policies, designs testing and training plans, and serves as liaison between hospital pharmacy and other clinical departments, vendors, and IS staff. Functions in concert with other members of the CNE Clinical Informatics Group to coordinate a unified approach to related project activities.

Graduate from an accredited college of pharmacy with current state pharmacist licensure or Bachelor?s degree in related field with at least 5 years of experience with clinical information technology systems and data analysis for patient care required. Minimum of 5 years? hospital pharmacy experience or equivalent. Demonstrated working knowledge of all aspects of pharmacy operations including healthcare terminology, information systems, databases and report writers is essential. Must have organization and project management skills and the ability to relate to all levels of the organization. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills required. Must be committed to a team-oriented work environment.
