Responsible for support, development, and implementation of the clinical programs in Pharmacy Services including but not limited to; prior authorization, step therapy, and therapeutic drug regimens. University Affiliation working as a clinical preceptor. Coordinates with New Orleans and Scottsdale staff to expand clinical programs and assist in the management of staff assigned to those programs. This position will work closely with the Pharmacy Operations Manager to ensure consistent practice of the clinical vision and initiatives. Requires excellent presentation skills and ability to multi-task various projects and tasks in a professional and political manner. Preferred location is Scottsdale, Arizona. Must be able to visit pharmacy in New Orleans a minimum 2 days per week.Position Description

Responsible for managing Pharmacists and/or Pharmacy Technicians whom compounds and dispenses medications, compounds, agents and/or other pharmaceutical supplies according to established operational and chemical procedures as prescribed by the FDA, customers, physicians, or other qualified individuals. Responsible for agent repass, recalls and expiration dates. Responsible for double blinded operations and emergency unblinding of patients as part of clinical study. Supervise personnel in the labeling of agents and related activities. Develops and implements methods and procedures for monitoring work activities, such as preparations of records, of expenditures, and progress reports.Minimum Requirements

5 to 7+ years in Health plan, PBM or specialty pharmacy industries including 4 years managerial experience.Additional Knowledge & Skills

Hands-on experience developing, implementing, and executing prior authorization protocols and drug/drug class reviews

Experience in managing clinical programs and coordinating off-site endeavors (for the payor, as well as manufacturers)

Experience selling the benefits of clinical services to internal and external constituents

Experience presenting to payors, and manufacturers the clinical program opportunities defined and approved by McKesson Specialty Management to clients leveraging clinical expertise when required.

Ability to present and subsequently publish at major healthcare meetings including but not limited to: AMCP, ASHP, ACCP, ASCP, etc.

Ability to work with McKesson affiliates to determine appropriate research models and research development opportunities

Ability to interact with all personnel within the New Orleans and Scottsdale office professionally, and timely as required.

Affiliation of a university site to bring in pharmacy students, projects and personnel that will give McKesson Specialty positive visibility in the market place.Education

PharmD, or equivalent experience. Fellowship or residency is preferred but not mandatoryCertifications
