Pharmacy Packaging Technician

McKesson Automation is seeking a motivated individual to manage and maintain all on-site medication packaging and bar-coding operations related to our automated robotic drug dispensing system installed within the Loudoun Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy located in Leesburg, VAPosition Description

POSTION SUMMARY:
The ROBOT-Rx Packager is responsible for packaging all unit dose medications required for ROBOT-Rx and non-robot daily dispensing. The ROBOT-Rx Packager will prepare and maintain the packager equipment for daily use, perform general equipment troubleshooting, maintain ROBOT-Rx online and offline inventories, and identify any customer concerns to the Supervisor of the Service Agreement Program.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:
* Perform all unit dose medication packaging according to ROBOR-Rx Daily Repackaging reports.
* Maintain all ROBOT-Rx online and offline inventories by utilizing appropriate reporting.
* Perform daily maintenance and necessary routine adjustments on the packager equipment.
* Assist pharmacy buyer with reordering required medication for packaging.
* Maintain and order appropriate packaging supplies to support the packaging process.
* Distribute Daily Performance Summary and Packaging Log Summary to Supervisor on a daily basis.
* Provide necessary on-site information to Supervisor on Robot-Rx performance and other key issues.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred.

Business Experience:
* Previous experience in hospital pharmacy or healthcare industry preferred.

Specialized Knowledge/Skills:
* Working knowledge of computer hardware, PC Windows.
* Working knowledge of mechanical packaging equipment.
* Good organizational skills, accurate, reliable and efficient.


HOURS: Monday Through Friday
