Pharmacy Technician/Order Entry Supervisor

    Job title:   Pharmacy Technician (Order Entry) SupervisorLocation:  Warwick, RI

Reports to:  Pharmacy Operations Manager

 

Basic Function: To supervise the Order Entry Technicians, and primarily manage the processes in the Order Entry function; be proficient in Order Entry and possess knowledge/experience with billing and adjudication. 

 

Position Qualifications:

 

? Coordinates Pharmacy Technician activities and ensures that Pharmacy Technicians enter data into computer system in order to fill prescriptions and obtain reimbursements in keeping with PharMerica?s standards of quality, customer service, productivity guidelines and State Board of Pharmacy Regulations.

 

? Supervises pharmacy technician staff in a leadership role to maintain a positive working environment by creating synergy and teamwork to minimize employee relations issues and reduce turnover. Communicates effectively with coworkers and customers and successfully resolves issues.

 

? Assist manager in day-to-day pharmacy operations and in implementing new procedures to ensure that the accurate and timely dispensing of quality pharmacy services is consistently delivered to all customers/residents using effective service leadership and customer service skills.

 

? Works with pharmacy management to control operating expenses by effective utilization of personnel, equipment and supplies. Drafts and publishes the technician schedule. Works with pharmacy management to develop systems to maintain and improve services within approved budget. Works with pharmacy management in maintaining and organizing appropriate documentation required by the state and federal agencies.

 

? Works with pharmacy management to gain a thorough understanding and working knowledge of job functions performed by each team member. Works with pharmacy management to recruit, select, hire, orient, develop and train new associates.  On an ongoing basis, evaluates, coaches, and utilizes performance management practices to motivate and set expectations for technician staff.  In collaboration with management, drafts and delivers effective corrective action plans to technicians performing at substandard levels.

 

? Education/Learning Experience

? Required: High School Diploma

? Desired: Technical Degree, 2-Year Degree or Bachelor?s Degree

? Work Experience

? Required: 0 ? 1 Year supervising technicians in a retail or institutional pharmacy environment

? Desired: 3 - 5 years of supervisor experience in LTC.

 

? Skills/Knowledge

? Required: Knowledge of federal and state regulations, knowledge of drug interactions, computer data entry skills.

? Licenses/Certifications 

? Desired: Pharmacy Technician Certification
