Pharmacy Technician - Prior Authorizations (Multiple openings available!)

We are undergoing rapid business growth in our new Overland Park facility, and we seek multiple pharmacy professionals to take on new positions in a non-retail, specialty pharmacy setting. The Pharmacy Technicians, focused prescriptions and insurance review, would enjoy extensive training, plenty of job variety and lots of advancement potential with a Fortune 100 healthcare leader.


 


Key responsibilities of the PharmTech include:



Performing a wide scope of functions related to the filling/processing of prescriptions and the review of patient benefits


Researching claims and investigating prescriptions


Comparing prescriptions with insurance guidelines to ensure patients have proper coverage


Relaying your findings to the appropriate department for auditing


Contacting nurses and doctors directly when additional information/clarification is required


Making outbound calls to patients to collect information and provide counseling when necessary


Assisting with moderately complex prescription processing and data entry



Pharmacy experience is required, and candidates must be registered as a Pharmacy Technician, or be eligible for registration. We will also accept applicants who are currently enrolled in PharmTech training or those who have prior authorization experience. National CPHT certification is preferred, as is a solid work history as a PharmTech. PPM, Pharmacy Benefits Manager, benefits determination, enrollment and Medicare part D familiarity is a plus. MS Windows proficiency is essential.
