The Strategic Planning team develops the Annual ESI Strategic Plan, manages strategic planning topics, develops the annual environmental update, pushes the organizational thinking and executes strategic planning research efforts.  The group works with a wide variety of cross-functional constituents including ESI Senior Staff.

 

The Strategic Planning Analyst role would be to obtain information, synthesize it and deliver it to key constituents throughout the organization, including the Strategic Planning team and cross-functional project teams. They will be responsible for the following:

 

?  Environmental Analysis, Competitive Analysis, Benchmarking and Strategic Planning Support

 

?  Perform regular environmental updates and supporting documentation to keep ESI?s environmental analysis current and in a usable format

 

?  Collect information using multiple sources including both primary and secondary research.  Secondary research sources include news sources, analyst reports, research tools, published reports, Express-Scripts? sources, etc.

 

?  Support strategic planning topics and organize information into formats

 

?  Identify areas of improvement opportunities for Express-Scripts in relation to analysis efforts

 

?  Synthesize information and present it to key internal constituents in user-friendly formats such as competitor profiles or company snapshots

 

?  Develop industry analyses on retail, pharmaceutical manufacturers, channels and emerging areas

 

?  Project Management

?  Assist in managing research initiatives with outside vendors 

?  Work cross-functionally in both internal and external analysis projects

Communication, and Management of Projects

?  Communicate findings to key constituents in both written and oral format

?  Manage external and internal research efforts

?  Prepare presentations, newsletters and other formats to summarize the information that key constituents need to know

?  Schedule meetings to share findings, receive feedback and answer questions

 

?  Identify New Research Needs

 

?  Assist in identifying additional information needs of key constituents throughout Express-Scripts

Requirements:

Good communicator in terms of both writing and speaking abilities

Ability to work cross-functionally and understand needs and perspectives of individuals

Bachelor?s degree required

Experience with external data gathering ? both primary and secondary preferred

5+ years of strategic and financial analysis experience preferred

Experienced with Microsoft Office software.  Experience with Microsoft Access would be a plus
