AIR LIFE PERINATAL FLIGHT RN

Schedule:
Part-time 60 hrs per pay period, 8 am-8 am, various days, every other weekend

Description:

AIR LIFE PERINATAL FLIGHT RN is responsible for providing specialized flight nursing care delivered to patients in the Air Life system. Renders the highest quality standards of care as indicated for the life support, stabilization and maintenance of the patient in accordance with operational policies, procedures and protocols in Air Life operations, and medical control/physician orders. Participates as a team member, and is an active member of the Clinical committee.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards, and techniques and demonstrates knowledge in accordance with SCMC policies and procedures within pertinent laws and regulations in the following areas:
1. Demonstrates a thorough understanding of all Air Life and Perinatal Flight Nurse policies, procedures and protocols, practicing within guidelines, independently and capably in the inter-hospital and aircraft environments.
2. Effectively assesses, evaluates, and anticipates problems in the premature and acutely ill infant, as well as the female patient in the antenatal, intranatal and postnatal phases of childbearing, and capably implements emergency treatment as indicated.
3. Demonstrates a knowledge base with the operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of flight medical equipment and supplies; inspects all essential equipment for function and presence, replacing inventory used or assuring repairs are made when indicated.
4. Meets flight team requirements.
5. Participates in public relations functions.

Requirements:
Education: Graduate accredited school of nursing, RN required.

Registration: Current NRP certification required, RNC preferred. ACLS, PALS required within 6 months of hire.

Experience: Level 3 NICU experience required, three years preferred. OB experience within a center with at least 100 births per month required, two years preferred. 85% or higher score on ALO PFN written exam.

Computer Literacy: Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
