CMA/OFFICE NURSE

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Assist in the delivery of primary health care services and patient care management.

* Prepare patient and assist provider with examination, treatment and minor surgical procedures. Responsible for obtaining medical histories, preparation and administration of injections, collection and preparation of specimens and performing office laboratory procedures.

* Schedule referral appointments and distribute patient educational information as directed by provider.

* Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.

* Maintain compliance with CLIA, OSHA, Safety and Risk Management guidelines.

* Maintain compliance with Personnel policies and procedures.

* Behave in a manner consistent with all Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.

* Perform other duties as requested by Clinic Coordinator to facilitate the smooth and effective operations of the office.

This position is for our walk in clinic. Working days/nights and weekend hours. Fill in available.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:

* General supervision is received from the Clinic Coordinator.

Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

* Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants, Licensed Practical Nurses or Registered Nurses.

* Current CME certification for Certified Medical Assistant or current license to practice nursing in the State of Iowa for Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse.

* BLS and Mandatory Reporter certification.

* Strong interpersonal skills.

* Ability to work as a team member.

* Ability to understand and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

* Previous clinical experience in a medical office.
