Cardiovascular Research Nurse Specialist

Borgess Cardiovascular Research, in Kalamazoo, MI., has an excellent opportunity for a Cardiovascular Research Nurse Specialist. This position oversees and coordinates the initiation, implementation, and development of clinical research protocols to meet requirements and objectives of Borgess Cardiovascular Research, Food and Drug administration (FDA) Regulations, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Guidelines and ICH Guidelines, sponsor Guidelines, Institutional Review Board, as well as investigator and patient needs.

BRI is a strategic resource of Borgess Health Alliance with the mission of advancing and complimenting the clinical strengths of Borgess Medical Center. BRI provides high-quality, comprehensive and centralized research services to enable research interested physicians and scientists to improve patient outcomes.

Job Requirements



Registered Nurse or Physician Assistant/required: Master?s Degree in Nursing or other health related field preferred. ACRP certification within one year of hire.

Licensed in State of Michigan as a registered nurse or physician assistant. Maintain pertinent credentialing and practices within licensed capabilities.

Minimum of five years of cardiac, critical care of cardiac catheterization laboratory experience plus some management experience required.

Experience with FDA clinical trials required.

Demonstrated ability to successfully complete multiple phases of clinical trials for medical devices and pharmaceutical products and work independently on multiple projects.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with physicians, staff, patients, sponsors and other groups as needed.

BCLS certification required. ACLS certification preferred.

Consideration of position will be given for licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant who can perform clinic visits and advanced physical exams under Michigan License as needed.
