As a Care Manager, you would use your clinical experience to handle inbound calls from psychiatric facilities, as well as performing telephonic case management and utilization review. Primary responsibilities include:
Providing pre-authorizations for psychiatric facilities, based on medical necessity standards (MCAP/MSAM)
Interacting with facility staff and attending psychiatrists over the phone
Performing telephonic case management and utilization review
Consulting with psychiatrists and supervisors as needed to make medical necessity determinations



The chosen candidate must be either an RN or hold a Master’s degree in social work or psychology/psychiatry (LCSW or LMFT). Significant clinical experience in mental health and/or substance abuse is essential. A background in facility-based programs is highly preferred, and managed care experience will be very helpful. Strong customer service skills are a plus. Computer skills will be needed.
