Claims Account Executive P/L

Under technical supervision the Claims Account Executive P/L (Professional Liability), coordinates case management for self-insured and commercially insured clients for medical malpractice.

 

This position performs a combination of the following duties according to departmental guidelines:

 Analyze and evaluate medical malpractice claims and formulate recommendations.Review Nurse Investigator?s reports and monitor progress for timely delivery of services to client. Maintain active communication with defense counsel and client and recommend case handling strategies. Establish and modify indemnity reserves on a timely basis as case details warrant and prepare reserve reports for client. Keep current on industry activity and trends. Participate in client case presentation meetings.May serve as team leader assigning work, training, and mentoring assigned staff. Perform other essential duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 Solid technical knowledge of medical claims and insurance industry procedures and practices as well as technical and product specific knowledge. Solid knowledge of medical terminology and conditions as well as the ability to read medical reports and clinical tests for claims assessment and benefit determination. Solid interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external business partners. Ability to work in team environment and gain cooperation of others. Detail oriented with good analytical skills, and ability to exercise independent judgment. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.

 

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Minimum three - four years of experience relating to litigation management of medical malpractice claims.
