Clinical Care Coordinator - Surgical

The Clinical Care Coordinator maintains 24 hour accountability for the clinical & management functions, as well as monitoring & evaluation activities pertinent to the operations of the Surgical Unit. Emphasis is on the supervision of staff of who are providing direct patient care through the nursing process. Care is rendered to age appropriate populations of each patient care unit. Is responsible for developing & promoting collaborative and collegial relationships with medical staff & support departments. Is responsible for managing supplies & equipment on the units of service. The Clinical Care Coordinator demonstrates clinical skill & competence as appropriate to their area. Must be able to work independently & possess analytical & organizational skills. Must have strong written & verbal communication skills. The coordinator is an extremely autonomous professional with expertise in interpreting medical information, a basic knowledge of community resources and knowledge of accessing internal & external resource information.

 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelors degree or higher strongly preferred. Minimum of 5 years experience in the field of practice with previous leadership experience required. BCLS and current Massachusetts RN licensure. Department Certification as appropriate.
