The Perioperative Manager is a professional Registered Nurse with primary responsibility for Main Operating Room and Surgicare One. The Manager is responsible for coordinating and ensuring the provision of safe quality patient care by daily monitoring of the activities of assigned staff and by taking corrective action as necessary. The Manager is accountable for outcomes related to patient satisfaction, clinical performance and cost. The Manager provides leadership in assuring compliance with all State and Federal regulations, the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, and the mission and philosophy of Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital. The Manager interfaces with physicians to identify and resolve operational issues and/or needs. Responsible for hiring and orientation of new employees

Incorporates department protocols for specific patient populations in planning practice and documentation per ESJH report card
Circulates cases in service line
Supports perioperative services with knowledge of equipment and supplies.
Utilizes leadership tools in communication, including effective oral, written, and listening skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
Directs other licensed and non-licensed personnel in the provision of care to patients as assigned.
Possess good analytical and problem solving skills.
Demonstrates effective and equitable management of staff of all races, nationalities, cultures, disabilities, ages, gender and sexual orientation.
Team building skills that create strong morale and spirit in team members.
Acts as an extension of the Director by performing selected leadership duties as delegated by the Director.
Promotes department cost effectiveness to achieve budget.
Establishes clear performance expectations for roles that differentiate levels of performance and hold staff accountable to those expectations.

Applies both nursing and management theories, procedures and standards to clinical practice.
Proactively develops quality indicators and quality improvements for service line/ department.
Creates an environment conducive to professional staff growth to promote recruitment, retention, and quality patient care.
Forecasts equipment needs on both a daily basis and for capital planning.
Assures compliance with all Environmental and practice regulations
Requirements: Must be a graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current State of Colorado Registered Nurse license and a Bachelors in Nursing or currently enrolled in a program to obtain advanced degree. Prefer five years management experience in Perioperative Services. Requires Basic Life Support certification. Certification in Perioperative Nursing (CNOR) preferred. Must obtain certification (CNOR) within two years after start.

The hours for this position are 3p to 11:30p.
