Job Description:
The position we are seeking to fill is the addition of a nurse with relevant pediatric or neonatal experience.  Experience in the intravenous administration of medications and associated documentaiton activiites. 
The essential functions of the job. 

 

1. Able to define and assess variations in clinical workflow for the product/functional area of focus.  Participates in one or more product development/improvement teams or other cross functional project teams.
2. Identifies opportunities and methods to obtain user input in product design and development. Contributes to the development of simulations and product evaluations to demonstrate the ability of the product to meet the user needs identified and achieve clinical acceptability and performance in comparison to comparative products.
3. Reviews medical and scientific literature to maintain expertise and current awareness of issues relevant to projects.
4. With user needs as a guide works with Product Manager, and the project individuals/ teams to provide feedback on product design and assist in business decision making.
5. Defines the implementation process and initial support tools for new product implementations.
6. Develops and delivers training programs for customers, distributor representatives and sales representatives.
7. Provides support for product materials such as directions for use, case studies, white papers and other materials that will result in customer adoption and satisfaction with the product.
8. Serves as a content expert for the administration of medications in the pediatric/neonatal environment.
9.   Performs other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements:

Education or Equivalent: 
Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
 
Experience or Equivalent: Minimum of 8 to 12 years experience in or directly relating to inpatient pediatric or neonatal nursing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Expert understanding of automated medication administration documentation systems a plus.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: List unique knowledge, skills, or problem-solving requirements.
Thorough understanding of the medication use process for the pediatric/neonatal environment (drugs ordered and employed, medication distribution to the patient care unit, administration techniques, documentation).  Familiarity with the methods used ot calculate pediatric doses and with syringe-based intravenous medication delivery.  Knowledge or proficiency in computer software applications such as word processing, graphic and spreadsheet applications is required. The position requires an individual that is able to work either independently or as a member of a team.
 
Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professionals journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
