Henry Medical Center, located just minutes south of Atlanta, has an immediate opportunity for a Clinical Nurse Specialist. The Clinical Nurse Specialist will be accountable for promoting excellence in the Clinical Nursing practice in the cardiology department. Primary responsibilities include the development and implementation of system wide standards of practice, including policies, protocols and procedures; the development, maintenance and advancement of the clinical competency of the nursing staff. The CNS articulates and demonstrates nursing practice that incorporates current nursing standards; regulatory requirements, best practices; an interdisciplinary framework; outcomes from nursing and healthcare research; changes in healthcare that impact patient care delivery; and advances in technology that support efficient and effective patient care. The CNS is an advisor for program development and strategic planning. The CNS works in clinical education and collaboratively works with clinical leadership to facilitate the development of the spirit of inquiry, critical thinking and skill synthesis. The collaborative effort works to ensure nursing staff has the knowledge and the skills to provide excellent nursing care that achieves high quality clinical outcomes, is cost effective, and is responsive to patient/family/nursing expectations.



Qualified candidates will possess a Master's of Nursing (MS or MSN) as well as current license and registration to practice Registered Professional Nursing in the State of Georgia, USA. Certifications in Critical Care Nursing and/or as CNS is preferred. Background should inclued experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in another organization including 3-5 years' of Medical, Surgical and or Critical Care Nursing clinical experience.
