DIRECTOR HOME HEALTH CARE

The Director of Home Health Care is responsible for the planning, organization, direction, and control of the home-based patient care services provided, including RN, HHA, PT, OT, SLP and M.S.W. visits.

Education: Registered nurse with a Master's degree in nursing administration or public health administration or related field or registered nurse with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing.

Special Training: (including licenses) Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of California and a valid drivers license. Working knowledge of computer order entry system.
Experience: (minimum, plus desired) Minimum of two years supervisory experience in community health, home health, or its equivalent within the past five years.

Position responsibilities: (specific duties and responsibilities of the position)
1.Recommends the development of new policies, functions, and services, as well as improvements to existing systems.
2.Ensures that policy and procedure manuals are current and are regularly reviewed by staff members.
3.Interprets hospital policies, objectives and operational procedures to staff.
4.Plan, direct, and document quality improvement and quality assurance activities for home health services within the parameters of the hospital quality management program.
5.Maintain the physical facility of service area for safety, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.
6.Plans and implements an overall budget framework for home health services.
7.Maintains relevant statistical information to assist in budget development and control.
8.Assumes responsibility for managerial self-development.
9.Manages personnel issues according to current hospital policies.
10.Functions as FCL(Facility Compliance Liason) for the department. Responsible for quarterly reporting of compliance activities, including but not limited to audits, information sharing, education, corporate compliance audits.
11.Responsible to coordinate all upgrades with computer service. Oversee troubleshooting of computers both lap top and desk top within the scope of Mckesson/Horizon Pathways.
12.Oversee compliance of billing function and AR

Clinical Support
13.Responsible for the development and maintenance of nursing service objectives and standards of nursing practice.
14.Participates in patient management and clinical activities as needed.
15.In collaboration with nursing solves complex patient care problems.
16.Coordinate cross training and internships.
17.Assist in technical support for staff when equipment difficulties arise.
