This Director of Education opportunity has just come available.

This opportunity is located in a smaller, acute care (Central Valley) hospital.

Skills and experience needed for this highly critical, and important, position include current, or recent, experienced in area of Nursing Education including the areas of ?continuing and in-service? education for hospital nursing personnel.

In this role as Dir of Education responsibilities will include ?the setting-up?, ?the organizing?, and ?the overseeing? of General Orientation and monthly education calendar as well as arranging other ?as needed? staff education services as these needs become known, and apparent, to the Director.

As you have probably gathered we are looking for the ?pro-active? Nursing Educator person rather than the ?status quo? person.
?Status quo? people create, and develop, mediocrity not outstanding results!

This Director of Education role offers an outstanding, as well as unique, opportunity to utilize your clinical skills, experience and ?teaching ability? to help further develop the nursing staff in an already excellent, acute care hospital setting. Nursing skills, and patient care, can always be improved upon, it just takes the ?right? person to ?see? the areas that need, or can, be improved upon. SALARY?BENEFITS: Excellent for both.
As the Director you can expect a salary in the $90k to the $97k range, salary package is also accompanied by a 10% incentive bonus as well.

This position reports to the # 2 person at the hospital, the Chief Clinical Officer.

A brief overview of the duties/responsibilities and job requirements are as follows:
* Plans, coordinates, and teaches continuing and in-service education for the
hospital, including General Orientation, monthly education calendar, and
corporate compliance agreement.
* Develops, plans, coordinates, and teaches other needed staff education.
* Collaborates with managers and peers regarding educational needs and to evaluate
staff competency.
* Develops short-term and long-term educational goals based on identified needs
through Quality Council, or PI Teams and annual assessments.
* Serves as consultant to the Hospital Quality Council.
* Oversees compilation and maintenance of accurate and complete records on each
employee.
BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:
* RN Licensure is State, Bachelor?s Degree required, BSN preferred. Masters degree
in business, nursing or related field preferred.
*Current BLS and ACLS certification.
* Minimum 2 years of clinical preceptor or clinical education experience required.
* Excellent written/verbal communication skills required.
* Excellent working knowledge of computers and various software programs.
