Florida Hospital Orlando Information: Located in Orlando, Florida, Florida Hospital Orlando uses the latest technology to treat over 32,000 inpatients and 53,600 outpatients annually. This 882-bed, acute-care community hospital also serves as a major tertiary facility for much of the Southeast, the Caribbean and South America.


Department Information:  Florida Hospital Orlando's Emergency Department has 42 rooms, including 19 monitored beds and five express care beds.  The department also houses a five-bed Chest Pain Center designed to care for individuals with acute cardiac problems.  We care for a large volume of patients in the Chest Pain Center, primarily because of Florida Hospital's reputation as a cardiac leader.  Additionally, a Children's Emergency Center is located within the ED, offering the highest level of care to children with everything from minor cuts and burns, to life-threatening illnesses and injuries.  About 20 percent of our ED patient population are children.  Finally, our ED features Flight Medicine Department that serves the needs of critically ill or injured patients within a 150-mile radius of Florida Hospital Orlando.


 


Patient care areas are designed and specially equipped to care for all medical and surgical emergencies affecting patients of all ages including the neonate to the geriatric. Staffing consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Patient Care Technicians and Unit Secretaries. Staffing is distributed over 3 shifts (day, evening, nights). The patient care delivery system is a nurse partnership model based on acuity. The Staff RN is a registered professional special care nurse who develops expertise in observational, assessment, re-evaluation and treatment, skills required in caring for all levels and ages (neonate, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) of Emergency patients. Through utilizing the nursing process, is responsible for collaborating with physicians in providing quality, safety, and appropriateness of patient care. Utilizing knowledge of current trends and practices in the nursing profession.


 


Position Description:

11am-11pm RN for busy Orlando campus Emergency Department.
Minimum 1 year recent emergency RN experience and ACLS required.
