Emergency Room - Staff Nurse II

Department:   Emergency Department   SCHEDULE: Part time Regular,Eve Shift; 28 Hours, 3:00PM-11:30PM

 

Week One: Monday, Wednesday,Friday, Saturday

 

Week Two: Sunday, Monday,Thursday

Schedule includes every other weekend commitment

 

EDUCATION: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program

 

LICENSE:Current California RN License

 

CERTIFICATION:  Current CPR/ACLS Certification required; PALS preferred

 

QUALIFICATIONS: One-year emergency department experience within the past two years required.

 

$5000 sign on bonus for ER nurses with 2 or more years of recent ER experience.

 

Must demonstrate excellent proficiency in procedures and techniques required in the emergency field. Must demonstrate ability to follow established nursing standardized procedures and protocols. Must be able to utilize the nursing process in the emergency health care setting. Must be able to deliver quality patient care quickly while developing and revising priorities to assure effective emergency treatment. Will need to demonstrate: critical thinking skills, problem solving, ability to use appropriate size equipment and supplies according to patient's age and size, appropriate and effective response to unit/patient crisis situations, a strong knowledge base to encompass age specific medical and social issues, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to recognize and report unsafe patient and environmental conditions., teamwork in a crisis driven department, excellent service skills via courtesy, cooperative spirit and tact when interacting with employees, members and visitors. Must be able to fulfill the functional environmental duties of the job. Must be able to communicate well (verbally and in writing.) Must be able to work weekends and holidays in accordance with departmental staffing requirements and contractual agreements. Shift may vary due to departmental need.
