EDUCATION: Graduate Of An Accredited Nursing Program

 



LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Current California RN required; Current ?BCLS? for Health Care Provider (Class C) required. ACLS required. PALS preferred

 



QUALIFICATIONS: Staff NURSE II (job code): 028459- Float Pool- Designated areas- PACU, ICU, TELE

? Six months full time or equivalent of adult or pediatric critical care experience within the past two years. (For ICU candidates)

? QUALIFICATIONS TRAINING/WORK EXPERIENCE:One-year Telemetry, ICU, and PACU (23 hour stay unit) Departments experience within the past two years preferred.

? Must be able to deliver quality patient care quickly while developing and revising priorities to assure effective emergency treatment. Manage/ supervise the patient care administered by nursing team members within the HAS/ PACU/ ASC/ 23hour unit setting.

? Will need to demonstrate: critical thinking skills, problem solving, ability to use appropriate size equipment and supplies according to patient's age and size, appropriate and effective response to unit/patient crisis situations, a strong knowledge base to encompass age specific medical and social issues, strong communication and organizational skills, ability to recognize and report unsafe patient and environmental conditions

? Must be rubella and measles immune. Must pass pre-employment physical

? Successful completion of formal training for computerized system required. Must have a completed pharmacy test.

? Demonstration of strong interpersonal skills, including good verbal and written communication skills.

? Must be willing to work variable shifts during the cross training program.

? Prolonged standing and walking required with ability to lift and move patients.

? Responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care for clients of all ages.

? Knowledge of psycho/social and cultural factors in the area of critically ill patients and/or significant others.

 

NOTE:

Candidates must attend no less than 11 of the 12 classes and successfully complete the Community Critical Care Course.

Orient on the day shift for six weeks (during cross training program), then assume the designated shift/schedule.
