Inpatient Nursing Educator

Responsibilties Functions in collaboration with the Director and Nurse Managers to develop and maintain the clinical orientation program and competency of all nursing staff.  The primary responsibility is to ensure that nursing staff, new to the organization, have the resources, support and knowledge to provide excellent nursing care.  Main areas of focus will include Medical/Surgical and Critical Care on the evening and night shifts.  Other responsibilities may include house-wide education, skill validation, development and coordination of competency programs. QualificationsEducation: Graduate of an accredited registered nurse program. Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required. Master's degree (MSN) preferred.

Licensures/Certifications: Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington.  Current BLS certification.

Experience and Skills: Three years of current nursing experience in acute care setting. Must have previous neurosurgery and/or vascular surgery experience.

Language skills: Must be able to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations. Ability to write reports, protocols, and procedures and to communicate effectively with staff of all job categories. Reasoning ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. This is a regular, full time, salaried position.  This position is eligible for benefits.
SALARY:  Placement within the scale is dependent upon years of work experience.  The salary scale is reviewed on an annual basis for market comparison and may change in pace with the market.
