Mercy General Hospital, located in Sacramento, California provides one of the country's largest and most respected cardiac programs, with the highest volumes in California and some of the most successful outcomes in the nation. We have one of the largest cardiovascular programs in California and is one of the leading providers of cardiac care in the nation and some of the best outcomes of any large heart program in the state. Mercy General provides excellent diagnostic and interventional care in our cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, often preventing the need for open-heart surgery. The Mercy Heart Institute sponsors an annual EP and Cardiology Symposium for healthcare providers with nationally recognized speakers. We are very active with Phase 1 clinical trials and are often early adopters in research. In addition, Mercy General Hospital has plans to build a Mercy Heart Center providing a consolidation of all of our current heart care services (including: cardiac catheterization, cardiac radiation therapy, non-invasive testing, electrophysiology, cardiac surgery, cardiac intensive care, cardiac telemetry, chest pain management, cardiac conditioning, education, prevention and wellness programs, cardiac device research, pharmaceutical research) in a state-of-the-art building that is being designed to provide a healing environment for our patients and caregivers.

The PCU is a 28 bed step down unit specializing in post open heart surgery patients. The PCU supports a high volume cardiac surgery program that performs about 1400 surgeries per year. This program has received both national and local recognition as it relates to it's outcomes being in the top 5%. This manager position will oversee the 24 hour operations of the PCU. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of cardiac nursing experience and 1 year of management experience.
