Manager, Quality Management
GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Case Management/Quality Management, with wide latitude for independent decision making within delegated authority, manages and participates in all activities of the Hospital and Medical Staff Quality Management Program. Supervises daily department operations to ensure collaboration with all hospital departments, including Medical Staff, Patient Care Services, Patient Safety, Case Management, and Clinical Outcomes. Actively participates in medical and quality-related committees and teams, and ensures smooth implementation of process improvement opportunities. Oversees the department?s data abstraction and analysis functions, and computer software-related processes. Regularly interacts with medical, nursing and hospital staff/administration, and provides leadership in all QM-related activities. This position provides a high level of quality service to both internal and external customers related to the quality care of patients of all ages.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Two to three years of supervisory experience. Must be a Registered Nurse currently licensed by the state of Arizona with a minimum of five years acute care/quality management/case management experience, and Bachelor?s Degree in related healthcare field, or an equivalent combination of education and training. Management experience preferred. A working knowledge of mandated quality reporting mechanisms and standards required. May be required to travel between facilities. Ability to demonstrate supervisory competencies, positively communicate and perform duties in a manner consistent with departmental scope of services and standards. Verbal (oral and written), clinical computer, and adult learning skills required. Must have the ability to effectively communicate with employees, the medical staff, and healthcare management staff. Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism are required. Must be able to communicate effectively at all levels and demonstrate leadership ability and group facilitation skills.
