NURSING SUPERVISOR (Per Diem-On Call)

Saint Francis is a fully accredited community based hospital, with 359 licensed beds. The hospital boasts a staff of over 500 physicians with more than 70 percent holding teaching appointments at medical schools, colleges and universities.

 

JOB SUMMARY:

The Administrative Nursing Supervisor maintains responsibility, accountability and authority for operations on the Nursing units on the off shifts and in the absence of the Clinical Manager.

 

Coordinates and controls the administration of patient care services on the unit to ensure the effective and efficient administration of all patient programs and services for continuity, quality and cost-effectiveness in patient care, staff development, regulatory compliance and related documentation.

Collaborates in developing and attaining Nursing departmental goals.

 

Participates as an active member of the management leadership team in the development, implementation, evaluation and revision of Nursing department. Assumes other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing and as needed by organization/Nursing department changes. Completes mandatory and annual competencies.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California Registered Nurse License
BSN or equivalent experience or Business preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience with 2 years leadership experience preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The physical ability and perceptive acuity (visual, hearing) to perform all functions.
Current Basic Life Support certification by the American Heart Association.
ACLS certified or within 6 months of hire.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

ACLS certification or obtained within 6 months of hire.
