Nurse Practitioner - Pain Service

Department Anesthesia Job Posting Description Part-time (24 hrs/week) opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner to work with the Pain Service to manage pain issues for patients for whom the Pain Service is consulted. Patients range in age from neonates to adults. Works collaboratively with the Pain Team and Attendings. In-depth knowledge of the use of opioids, local anesthetics (for epidural therapy), NSAIDS, and other analgesics, in-depth knowledge of age-appropriate pain assessment tools, recognition and treatment of analgesic side effects, and the recognition and treatment of complications of therapy and recent in-hospital experience caring for patients with complex medical needs including postoperative patients, patients with pain due to cancer, sickle cell disease or other more chronic illnesses is required. Current APN license as an NP required. Position included two 12-hour shifts, weekday evenings and weekend nights.
