Nurse Supervisor, Health Promotion

Center for Health Promotion provides health education and weight management programs to the community. This position: supervises, coordinates nursing and clinical functions of Weight Management program; is responsible for conducting clinical evaluation of patients joining medically supervises Weight Management and other weight loss programs; oversees Weight Management clinics i.e., staffing, smooth and efficient clinic flow; monitors patient safety, comfort and compliance in program; supervises clinical RN's and contributes to department leadership team; works with various payors to obtain payment authorization; communicates with physicians regarding patient progress, and issues.


 

Location
Travel between two  Sharp HealthCare sites in San Diego


Hours
10-hour shift. Generally work week is Monday through Thursday; there are some requirements for evening work (until 8 or 9 pm) and an occasional Saturday.


Qualifications
Current California Registered Nurse licensure required.
Current CPR certification required.
Bachelor's of Science in Nursing required.
Three-five years clinical nursing experience required.
Experience with staff supervision required.
Health education and behavior modification experience preferred.
Excellent patient interviewing skills required.
Strong IV and/or phlebotomy skills required.
Twelve lead EKG skills preferred.
Good computer skills including Microsoft Office required.
Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required.
Excellent organizational skills required.
Understanding of managed care preferred.
Reliable transportation between offices required.

Physical Requirements
Able to lift at least 40 pounds. Must be able to sit, stand, talk on phone and work on computer for long periods.
