Description:

PATIENT CARE RN ON-CALL provides patient and family focused care as part of the health care team in accordance with SCMC mission, philosophy, policies, and procedures while applying standards for professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of nursing principles, practices, standards, and techniques and applies this knowledge in accordance with SCMC policies and procedures and within laws and regulations governing nursing practice in the State of Oregon.

Care Management: Functions as a member of the Care Management Team to assure nursing care is accomplished effectively and efficiently in a cost effective manner, discharge planning is carried out, and the medical regime for each patient is implemented as prescribed by the physician. Delegates/assigns tasks/duties to other members of the care team as appropriate.

Documentation: Gathers data and accurately documents information in a timely manner demonstrating the utilization of the nursing process to promote patient outcomes.

Requirements:
Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Registration - Current licensure with the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Experience - One year acute care (medical/surgical) experience required.

Job Knowledge - Must demonstrate knowledge of concepts of medical and surgical asepsis, disease processes, and psychological concepts. Must possess excellent clinical nursing skills, critical thinking and problem solving skills, and demonstrate flexibility and openness to change. Excellence in communicating with others (both oral and written), ability to prioritize workload demands, and conflict resolution skills emphasized in job performance.

Computer Literacy: Ability to learn and apply basic computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, opening and sending e-mail messages.
