LOCATION:     Public Health and Environment Department (Care Team) or (Family Health)

 RANGE:      Public Health Nurse I:  $42,138- $54,947/annually

  Public Health Nurse II: $48,611- $63,463/annually

ANTICIPATED HIRING RANGE:   $42,138-$56,037/annually

HOURS/DAYS:8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.; Monday - Friday (hours may vary, including evenings and weekends).  Part-time vacancy 24 hours per week.  Work schedules (hours and days) are subject to change based on department needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Care Team (Full-time vacancy): Works as a member of the Long Term Care Team in enhancing services to the aging and or disabled population.  This includes assessment, care coordination, quality assurance of providers, accessibility to services and health promotion.  Family Health (Part-time vacancy): Provides home visits and health promotion education to pregnant and postpartum women, infants, and children.  Works with high risk families to promote positive family relationships and reduce child maltreatment.  Assesses and promotes appropriate medical/dental health and home and child passenger safety needs. REQUIREMENTS: Public Health Nurse I : Requires Bachelor's Degree in Nursing with Public Health Nurse Certification and registration as a professional nurse in the State of Minnesota.  One year of nursing experience is desired. 

Public Health Nurse II: Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing and one year of progressively responsible and demonstrated experience in public health nursing required.  Master?s Degree in Nursing or Public Health desirable, but does not substitute for experience. Registration as a professional nurse in the State of Minnesota; certification as a public health nurse in the State of Minnesota.

 

 

Must have own means of reliable transportation for business purposes; individuals operating a motor vehicle for county business must possess a valid driver's license.  Offers of employment will be contingent upon receiving favorable responses to Sexual Exploitation inquiries per MN Statute 148A, drug testing and completion of a tuberculosis screen.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:  Work involves office (30-40%) and outside field work (60-70%).  Lifting requirement may include frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.  Exposures may include, but are not limited to, disagreeable odors, elevated noise levels, communicable diseases, body fluids and persons with behavioral challenges.  Equipment used includes, but not limited to, general office equipment such as telephone, personal computer, calculator, beeper and medical related equipment such as scale, blood pressure cuff, etc. needed to adequately perform job requirements.  Additional physical/mental requirements may not be listed above, but are inherent in performing the position?s essential functions.
