Quality Improvement Data Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:  The Quality Improvement Department is responsible for coordinating quality improvement

activities throughout the organization.  The Quality Improvement Data Specialist plays an integral role in monitoring

key organization quality improvement indicators, ensuring that QI indicators are reported and documented.  The QI Data Specialist will assist in educating new staff to organizational compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards as well as coordinating organizational quality improvement initiatives and processes.  The Quality Improvement Data Specialist is responsible for reporting and analyzing QI data and identifying opportunities for improvement.  Independent Auditor for UM, CM, DCC and QI activities.  The QI Data Specialist will audit clinical files and telephonic monitoring working with the QI Facilitator to develop monitoring, tracking and reporting tools.  Generate reports, analogy and identify opportunities

of improvement in recommendations to the Director of Training.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

 

Education: Clinical Licensure, Behavioral Health preferred 

 

Experience: At least five (5) years of clinical experience; and at least three (3) years of experience related to healthcare, quality improvement activities/process improvement/outcomes measurement.

 

Knowledge/skills:

?  Strong critical thinking skills, communication skills, and

documentation skills

? Statistical ability to analyze data

?  Working knowledge of NCQA/URAC Accreditation 

?  Strong problem solving and decision making skills 

?  Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office

Suites including the development of spreadsheets.

? Must be able to work independently

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 

  Job Performance/Responsibilities:

? Assist and coordinate the implementation of organizational wide quality improvement

  processes including regulatory and accreditation compliance

? Assist in the evaluation of the effectiveness of quality improvement program

? Monthly reporting of quality improvement initiatives and data

? Completion of quarterly operational audits related to CM, DM, UM, Triage

  and provides data to QI for analysis and QIA documentation

? Assess organizational opportunities for improvement and propose solutions

? Monitor follow-up activities in relation to internal corrective action plans

? Executes work plans, monitors results, develops and documents progress reports,

  coordinate with QI facilitator

? Assist with the development and implementation of UM, DM, CM, management

and Triage monitoring tools

? Evaluates programs against stated targets and goals to identify improvement and program 

  redesign opportunities

? Demonstrates effective skill in planning, monitoring and accomplishing specific projects

? Ensures that project goals and requirements are met within timeframe limits

? Demonstrate and maintain knowledge of current standards, policies and procedures relating

  to the Quality Improvement Program

? Coordinate statistical and data analysis efforts with QI staff to facilitate the production

of  improvement reports

? Demonstrate initiative and teamwork, thus ensuring that departmental initiatives and

activities are carried out appropriately and those opportunities for improvement are identified

and acted upon

? Develop standard operating procedures (SOP) to include compliance thresholds

? Coordinate and conduct quality improvement studies as indicated

? Enhance effective interdepartmental communication to ensure timely reporting of quality data

? Report adverse occurrences and quality complaints found through file audits

? Monitor key organizational quality improvement indicators

? Document, develop, and/or coordinate corrective action plans in response to client and/or accreditation/regulatory audits

? Perform other duties as indicated by department director
