REDMOND ICU PRIMARY RN

Schedule:
Part-time 16 hrs per pay period, 7a - 3:30p and 3 - 11:30pm shift, various days, every other weekend

Description:

REDMOND ICU PRIMARY RN is responsible for delivery of nursing care to individuals based on comprehensive assessment, analysis, collaboration with integrated team members, and educational needs of the patient. The registered nurse is accountable for ongoing evaluation and documentation of all components of care delivered to customers of Central Oregon Community Hospital. In addition, the critical care registered nurse must possess the skill and judgement to act quickly, knowledgeably and appropriately in critical and life threatening situations that may occur with patients.

Maintains an in-depth knowledge of principles, practices, standards and techniques and demonstrates knowledge in accordance with CHC policies and procedures within pertinent laws and regulations in the following areas:
1. Demonstrates effective leadership skills in communication, delegation, organization, and management of assigned work.
2. Safely and accurately provides technical nursing skills and interventions.
3. Demonstrates sound nursing judgment and critical thinking skills by actions taken in decision making and prioritization of care delivered to the critically ill patient.
4. Works to achieve desired outcomes through coordination of patient/family care with the effective use of resources.
5. Provides education using a broad range of teaching activities to promote health and well being across varied ages and cultures.
6. Helps the patient /family group to identify and meet basic health needs using identified standards of practice based on the nursing process. The registered nurse coordinates care using an interdisciplinary holistic approach.

Requirements:
Education / Experience: Graduate of an approved school of nursing required. Completion of a basic, critical-care course or equivalent on the job training for a minimum of six months.

Other Qualifications/ License / Certificates: Current Oregon State RN license, CPR, Critical Care Basics, ACLS, and TEAMS.

Technical / Computer Skills: Demonstrates basic computer skills and an ability to access and use information in meaningful ways. Ability to operate technical equipment, perform nursing procedures, and complete unit specific competencies.
