Beth Israel Medical Center is a 1,368-bed, full-service tertiary teaching hospital that was founded on Manhattan's Lower East Side before the turn of the 20th century. Beth Israel originally was dedicated to serving a vulnerable population in that community. Now a century later, the Medical Center serves individuals and families from every walk of life throughout New York City and beyond.

 

Director of Perioperative Services directs the clinical and administrative functions supporting all perioperative services of the medical center.  Responsible for three campuses:  Petrie Division, Phillips Ambulatory Care Center, and Kings Highway Division.

 

Ensures high quality, effective, patient care and surgical assistance is provided.

 

Perioperative Services are provided in the Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Unit, Post Anesthesia Care Unit, Pre-Admission Testing, Pre-Surgical Testing, Central Sterile Processing Department and Endoscopy at Kings Highway Division.

 

Directs the development of short and long term goals and objectives for the department.

 

Develops and implements policies, procedures and standards for all perioperative services and monitors for complaints.

 

Participates in the development of an effective leadership team of clinical managers and professional staff. 

 

Directs the development of operating budget and ensures compliance with hospital budgetary guidelines.

 

Responsibility for 30 operating suites:  Petrie (18), PACC (7), KHD (5)

Requirements:

 

NYS licensed RN. Master's preferred. Previous directly related/OR experience.
