This position serves as base unit staff for the medical coronary care unit. Incumbents will use specialized knowledge, judgment and nursing skills based upon the principles of biological,physical and social sciences to facilitate patient's achievement of optimum health status. Provides leadership and coordination to the healthcare team and will maintain standards of professional skills.

Responsibilities :

The Coronary Care Unit provides care to the acutely ill medical cardiac patient. Nurses in CCU are experts in caring for patients on Intraortic Balloon Pumps, hemodynamic monitoring and the administration of multiple cardiac medications. The total care approach is used to achieve optimal health, focusing on anatomy, pathophysiology,emotional and spiritual needs. CCU is a fast paced high acuity critical care unit where nurses will be called upon to utilize many skills.CCU also promotes leadership and teamwork.

Qualifications :

Requires current AZ RN license and a minimum of one year current clinical experience, as an RN,is highly desireable. However, new grads with previous LPN or Extern experience may be considered. Must possess highly developed interpersonal skills and demonstrate behaviors consistent with those indentified as Banner Health service standards.
