Responsibilities :

The Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is a professional nurse, who, through graduate study and supervised nursing practice, has become an expert clinician and patient advocate in a particular specialty or sub-specialty of nursing practice. The CNS is expected to apply in depth knowledge in their specialty area directly and indirectly in interventions with patients, families, and staff thereby enhancing the quality of care for a specific patient population. The CNS actualizes the role through direct patient contact, consultation, utilization of research and contributions to management. The ability to influence is essential to effective CNS practice and is a manifestation of the CNS professional attributes of leadership, collaboration, and consultation skills.

Qualifications :

Current Arizona RN license, Masters Degree with major in Nursing, 5 years nursing experience 3 years in Critical Care/Telemetry. Must have five (5) years of cardiac experience. Teaching/educational experience preferred. Ability to take the initiative, to problem solve, and to improve processes required.
