The Registered Nurse opening is in our Mom & Baby Unit (MBU) that is part of our Women's and Children's Services Department at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital . This 24/7 unit cares for patients who've delivered babies vaginally and surgically, and their newborns. As one of the busiest hospitals for births in Colorado, this department averages 360-450 babies per month. The high-volume MBU unit includes two mother-baby areas:

* Our 2nd floor 25-private rooms
* 35-bassinet nursery unit
* 7-8 bed overflow patient area
Your Position

To fulfill this role as a Registered Nurse, you'll provide mother-baby services such as education, assessment, postpartum newborn care, and lactation support. You'll monitor patients' vital signs, nutrition, safety and overall satisfaction. Postpartum patients arrive from our newly remodeled Labor and Delivery Unit affectionately known as "The Baby Place."

As a newly hired Registered Nurse, you'll be precepted by unit-experienced RNs and surrounded by a mentoring environment combined with an operational "what's best for the patient" attitude. This talented and dedicated multidisciplinary team consists of other RNs, LPNs, Lactation Educators, CNAs, Unit Assistants, Birth Certificate Secretaries, and Unit Secretaries.

Like you, we also value the balance between work and family. Our unit offers a stable environment and features: no-mandatory call schedule, self-scheduling in set schedules where possible. Our Requirements

* Current Colorado RN licensure
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* NRP certification
* Preferred experience: 1 to 2 years Mom and Baby and/or 1 to 2 years medical/surgical experience
