Join the Salem Hospital Surgical Services Team as on Operating Room RN and have the opportunity to provide peri-operative care of the surgical patient based on the nursing process. Your responsibility begins with the preoperative assessment and continues until the post-operative assessment and report is given to the appropriate person. Additional responsibilities include performing all the duties and functions of an operating room Circulating Nurse and Scrub Nurse and have a working knowledge of aseptic technique. Provide the nursing care needs of patients receiving anesthesia and provide support to anesthesia personnel as needed. Assess, plan, coordinate and render skilled nursing care to patients in all areas of the hospital or home health environment. Work with a multidisciplinary team to formulate and administer treatment plans; administers medications, IV?s, evaluates outcome, interprets diagnostic data, resuscitates patients, and documents care in patient charts. Admit and discharge patients; schedules patient appointment as needed. Educate patient and family relative to treatments and provisions provides support, education and facilitation for patients to meet goals. Oversee, delegate and evaluate the delivery of patient care provided by lower level practitioners. Maintains supplies and assures cleanliness of area.

 

Professional Qualifications:Graduate of accredited nursing program.Requires a minimum of 2 years recent RN operating room experience.Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon or able to obtain licensure in the State of Oregon prior to start date. BLS and ACLS certification obtained to within department standards.Excellent in customer service and safe patient care; contributes to a work environment of caring and cooperation among culturally diverse workforce.Demonstrated excellence in communication and interpersonal skills a must. Flexibility to provide coverage as needed a plus. Adequate visual and hearing ability to read and perform nursing procedures safely.Manual dexterity adequate to perform skills and procedures of patient care safely.Ability to safely pull and turn a minimum of 50 pounds unassisted and more than 100 pounds with assistance: bend, stretch, and reach to accomplish duties.Obtains unit-specific validations identified by manager after hire.

 

This position is currently designated as eligible for a sign-on bonus and/or relocation assistance.  Package to be finalized at the time of a job offer depending on geographic distance of relocation, negotiated start date, and other considerations.
