Regional Nurse

 Conduct medical record reviews, observe delivery of screening services, and audit records to assess adequacy of documentation and compliance with protocol
? Provide expertise and assistance to providers regarding program medical policy and protocol
? Investigate complaints and work toward resolution; refer issues to senior management as necessary
? Conduct new provider site visits to provide corresponding orientation, expertise, and assistance
? Conduct monitoring visits to providers experiencing action plan-related compliance difficulties
? Conduct training and orientation sessions for all newly-enrolled providers
? Promote and provide education on relevant quality issues
? Provide guidance and conduct informal training sessions to address Provider Profile deficiencies and deficiencies identified during monitoring
? Build and maintain program outreach advocacy by developing on-going liaison relationships with influential individuals, groups and organizations in local communities as:
? Public health nurses
? School nurses
? Parent groups
? Head Start
? Community health clinics
? Family planning program staff
? Counsel and educate non-compliant beneficiaries/recipients on their responsibilities and proper use of health resources, as requested by providers
? Serve as a CommunityCARE/KIDMED ?ambassador? to promote children?s health awareness and the power of preventive health care throughout the community
? Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process

 

? Valid, current Louisiana nursing license (RN)
? Valid drivers license
? Bachelor?s degree in Nursing or equivalent work experience
? Minimum three years nursing experience, with at least one year above Staff Nurse level, in one or more of the following fields:
? Public health
? Community health
? Pediatric preventative medicine
? Utilization review
? Quality management
? Primary care

 

? Working knowledge of and experience with:
? Medical practices within a community-based medical program
? Bureau of Health Services Financing (BHSF)
? Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH)
? Medicaid
? CommunityCARE/KIDMED programs
? Excellent, proven skills in:
? Social assessment and observation
? Written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communications
? Leadership and motivation
? Task and project organization analysis
? Word processing and computer applications
? Customer relations and service
? Strong, demonstrated ability to:
? Work independently and autonomously
? Maintain strict confidentiality
? Simultaneously handle multiple priorities, tasks, and deadlines
? Maintain close, consistent attention to detail
? Remain flexible and composed under pressure
? Ability and willingness to travel
