JOB SUMMARY
Assesses the medical and/or vocational components of injured worker's situation including, but not limited to, prior authorization, determination of appropriate level of care and utilization of services, concurrent review, retrospective review, development of discharge plans and assurance of quality and cost effectiveness. Acts as a liaison among patient/family, employer, insurance company, and healthcare personnel to ensure necessary care is provided promptly and effectively to restore injured worker's function, capacity and self-esteem.

This position will be responsible for providing field case management services to assist individuals in reaching pre-injury level of function and/or maximum medical improvement. Activities include but are not limited to coordination of medical care.

* Meets with clients in their homes; physician's, therapists, or attorney's offices; and/or work sites to provide on-going case management services.

* Conducts on-site job analysis of client's pre-injury position as part of a three-point initial assessment as well as other positions requiring analysis as part of casework.

* Communicates both in person and by telephone with clients, medical providers, attorneys, employers, insurance carriers, etc.

* Prepare reports and other required paperwork as documentation of all casework activities at a consistently high standard and in a timely manner.

* Understands and applies all special instructions required by individual insurance carriers and referral sources.

* Understands and applies all laws and regulations which apply to the provision of rehabilitation services.

* Testifies if called to do so, to substantiate any casework or reports that may be seen as relevant in hearings involving client.



* Licensed RN in accordance with state laws of jurisdiction.

* 2 - 4 years field case management experience.

* Regional travel is required.

* Must be computer literate.
