The Registered Nurse opening is on our 7 th Floor Telemetry Unit, which is part of our Critical Care Department . The 44-bed unit cares for both medical and surgical telemetry patients and is decentralized from the hospital staffing office. The north tower contains 22 beds in 13 rooms, four of which are private while the south tower contains 22 beds in 14 rooms, of which six are private. In addition, our unit can flex to handle intermediate care (IMC) patients in a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. This unit is part of Cardiac and Vascular Institutes at Exempla Saint Joseph Hospital that was rated as "superior" in the care of heart attack and coronary bypass graft patients, earning Colorado's only 100 Top Cardiovascular Hospital ratings. Your Position

To fulfill this vital role as a Registered Nurse, you'll work alongside a stable, talented multidisciplinary team of other registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and technicians all supported by knowledgeable shift coordinators, a clinical nurse specialist and the clinical manager. Patient categories include those with chest pains, heart failure, dysrhythmias, and pre- and post Cardiovascular Lab work. Surgical post-operative care includes open heart and carotid endarterectomies patients. Procedures and treatments include chest tubes monitoring and maintenance, vasoactive IV medications, and various respiratory therapies.

* Current Colorado RN License
* Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (or within 6 months of employment)
* Preferred: 1 to 2 years experience in telemetry or medical/surgical at an urban or large community hospital
