SPVR CLINICAL BACK OFFICE, RN

The Orthopedic Supervisor is responsible for the Orthopedic Department day-to-day clinical and administrative leadership to the non-physician clinical staff, medical office receptionists and telephone receptionists. The successful candidate will ensure that services are effective and meet all regulatory requirements, and that patients are provided quality health care utilizing appropriate staff resources.

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, ensures that employees are valued, given an equal opportunity to succeed in an atmosphere of inclusion where there is open and timely communication, fairness and accountability. Creates an environment that responds quickly to employee concerns, proactively engages employees in problem solving and works with senior management to create a healthy workplace.

Essential functions include, but are not limited to:

1.Works collaboratively with center management to meet company objectives and participates in the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures for the department.
2.Assists the Operations Manager in developing policies and procedures to ensure 100% compliance with all federal and state regulatory agencies. Ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Complies with zero injury and blood borne pathogens policy.
3.Participates in the development and responsible for the implementation of protocol for providing medical evaluation of patient calls.
4.Analyzes daily clinical operations and utilization of resources by anticipating and developing customer effective solutions to meet facility needs. Implements team nursing concept and cross training between the two departments.
5.Analyzes daily front office and telephone operations and utilization of resources to anticipate and develop effective customer service solutions to meet the facility / organizational benchmarks.
6.Coordinates and directs the surgery schedulers for Orthopedics and Podiatry
7.Participates in the development of site budgets and assists in cost containment within assigned area(s).
8.Ensures staffing of department is within budget; evaluates department positions and recommends improvements.
9.Understands when coaching is required and or ability to initiate corrective action and termination recommendations, monitors employee performance; conducts evaluations and performance reviews in a timely manner. Monitors timekeeping and adherence to other policies/practices.
10.Interacts daily with staff to ensure an open line of communication is maintained in order to identify and address issues, needs, and /or concerns as they arise.
11.Interviews, hires and initiates corrective action and termination recommendations, monitors employee performance; conducts evaluations and performance reviews in a timely manner. Provides consistent, constructive feedback to employees.
12.Facilitates orientation, training and in-service education to staff, including monthly staff meetings.
13.Ensures compliance with and measurement of all audit results; takes corrective action where necessary.
14.Responsible for the customer service and skills assessments measured monthly by department audits.
15.Resolves patient concerns in conjunction with Operations Manager and Facility Medical Director.
16.Provides clinical nursing/assisting support at assigned times.
17.Actively participates on Clinic Leadership Team.
18.Functions as an RN Clinical Educator at times.

Required qualifications:
§ Five years experience in Orthopedic
§ Two years supervisory experience

Desired qualifications:
§ Licensed Registered Nurse
§ Associates Degree in Nursing or Bachelor's Degree in health care or related field
§ BCLS/CPR certification
