Utilization Manager, RN

Primary responsibilities include providing the highest quality of effective, proactive and professional services to staff, members, and clients in all aspects of Utilization Management services. Monitor all hospital inpatient/observation admissions & stays for conformance to Medicare standards. The Manager functions in the primary role as oversight for the entire Utilization Management Department. Enabling and supporting responsibilities include all activities associated within the department and will include: staffing, audits, project management, staff development, quality management, as well as training and development.

 

Must have knowledge of disease classification & current standards of practice; know Federal, State, PRO & JCAHO regulations & standards; awareness of managed care concepts & payor authorization criteria.

 

Position requirements and qualifications:
RN license is required.
3+ years of UR experience is required.
2-5 years of progressive management experience is necessary.
BS in Nursing or related field is preferred.
