JOB SUMMARY:
Perform x-rays and maintain files and records in accordance with established policies and state regulations, and assists with physical examinations, patient treatments, testing and maintenance of clinical areas.


MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
' Prepares patient for physical examination: vital signs, ancillary tests.
' Assists physician during examinations.
' Performs necessary medical treatments as ordered by the physician: dressing, dispense medication, apply splints, irrigate eyes, etc.
' Performs testing procedures as ordered by physician: pulmonary function, ideograms, EKG, blood draws and alcohol breath testing.
' Assists in keeping clinical area stocked, and prepared for patient care.
' Assists in surgery set up and injury care as directed by the presiding physician.
' Follows prescribed chain of custody for collecting NIDA and non-NIDA drug screens, prepares samples for shipment and calls appropriate courier for pick-up.
' Answers telephones and assists with front office procedures, on request.
' Ensures lab lock boxes are out at close of business each day and retrieves them in the next morning, verifying lab pick up.
' Maintains all machines each day running appropriate calibrations check and records results.
' Operates autoclave machine in accordance with policy and procedures that meets all regulatory requirements.
' Performs x-ray functions when certified in accordance with state regulatory agency or meets state requirement.
' Performs other duties, as assigned

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:
' High school graduate or equivalent.
' Graduate of any accredited school for medical assistants.

JOB RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:
' Experience in clinic or physician office.
' Six months experience in X-Ray, and familiarity with routine medical procedures.

JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:
' Demonstrated effective communication and interaction with employers, patients, providers and other employees.
' Demonstrated working knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific)
' Demonstrated working knowledge of clinical operations.
' Demonstrated willingness to attend and sucessfully complete UDS certification course.
' Demonstrated willingness to attend and sucessfully complete Breath Alcohol Test certification course.
' Demonstrated willingness to attend and sucessfully complete Hair Collection certification course.
' Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
