Medical Phycisist

The Medical Radiation Physicist is responsible overseeing the Radiation Safety program and calibration of and performance specifications for all therapeutic radiation equipment. This is a professional level position in Radiation working independently under the direction of the Medical Director. The Medical Director evaluates the technical aspects of job performance. Work situations are varied and include performing in-vitro/in-vivo tests of diagnostic and therapeutic value and administering the use of radioactive materials for therapeutic and diagnostic purposes. Internal contacts are basically within the work group but may include clinical staff and management throughout MHS. External contacts include physicians, patients, families, and outside organizations and agencies.


Required Skills:
- Master's degree in Medical Physics from an Accredited Educational Program for Medical Physicists which includes an equivalent of one (1) year clinical training under the auspices of an ABR board certified Therapeutic Radiation Physicist
- ABR certification shall be in the sub-specialty of Therapeutic Radiological Physics
- Clinical expertise and experience in radiobiologic tenents as they pertain to the treatment of patients with radiation and chemotherapy
