Special Procedures RN (Interventional)-Day Shift

Full Time, Day shift; rotating schedule; call obligations

Description:
Interventional Special Procedure Professional Nurse under the general supervision of the Lead Nurse, Interventional Radiology, and the section Medical Directors of IR, CT, and US, and with the support of the Nursing Directors of Adult Patient services, provides comprehensive nursing care to patients having procedures in Diagnostic Imaging, in accordance with the hospital and department established policies and procedures, and the physicians orders. All essential functions performed in this position reflect the age specific needs of the patient.

Assesses, monitors and provides optimum care to in patients/outpatients of all ages and acuity levels who require diagnostic and/or interventional procedures in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging.

Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing with current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Rhode Island.

ACLS & BLS certified, PALS certification recommended.

Demonstrated mature judgement, initiative, and proficiency in nursing skills.

Is able to work without direct supervision.

Is knowledgeable in physical assessment, aseptic techniques, IV skills and universal precautions.

6 months-1 year experinece with pediatric sedatian; previous Vascular Radiology experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE:
One year med/surg nursing experience.
One year ICU or one to two years ER nursing experience with at least one year trauma room experience.
