Vascular Technologist- full time days!!!

Position Description: A client of Hoffman Recruiters in the Boston area has a strong need for a vascular technologist.
This position is full time days and offers an excellent work environment!

Description:
1 Provides competent and compassionate patient care based on scientific principles. Vascular Registry and Society of Vascular Technologists guidelines and physician orders.
2. Performs vascular procedures competently in compliance with the Vascular Registry and Society of Vascular Technologists. Acquires, calculates, and performs preliminary interpretation and comparison to prior examinations.
3. Uses ultrasound to guide physicians during compression procedures and pre and post operatively, i.e., vein mapping and graft evaluation.
4. Performs basic tests on equipment and operates equipment adhering to safety instructions of manufacturer and hospital policy.
5. Participates in teaching and training of students in affiliation programs, surgical PA's, housestaff, and vascular fellows.
6. Participates in laboratory activities of accreditation and vascular registry.
7. Provides patient instructions and teaching pre-procedure
8. Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
9. Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills based on current ultrasound practice by maintaining CEU requirements for registry.
10. Maintains current CPR.

Requirements:
1. Knowledge of advanced physics and principles of ultrasound and anatomy and physiology, generally acquired through three years of college training.

2. RVT or RVT eligible, and CEU's current to maintain competency as required by RVT.

3. CPR certified and current.

4. Basic computer skills.

5. Interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and a multi-disciplinary team of healthcare personnel to resolve complex problems.

6. Minimum of one year of vascular technology experience.
