Primary care management responsibilities include telephonic review and authorization of mental health and substance abuse services provided in inpatient, intermediate, and outpatient settings; collecting and analyzing utilization data; assisting with discharge planning and ambulatory follow up activities; providing member assistance with mental health and substance abuse issues; and participating in Quality Improvement projects. Manages a caseload of intensive care management members if assigned.

The candidates we seek to provide care management services must have a Master?s degree in a behavioral health field, 3 years post-graduate clinical experience and OH licensure. Essential skills include knowledge of chemical dependency assessment and treatment, knowledge of assessment and treatment of psychiatric conditions, as well as possessing good organization, time management, communication, and computer skills. Knowledge of public sector treatment resources is preferred.
