Blue Ridge Behavioral Healthcare (BRBH) was established in 1969 as a Community Services Board responsible for providing a system of comprehensive quality services in mental health, mental retardation, and substance abuse, as well as monitoring and evaluating such services to ensure their cost effectiveness and applicability to citizen needs. BRBH has 40 programs and about 450 employees working to provide these services.

DUTIES:  The Nurse?s Aide/Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible for performing nursing tasks under the direction and supervision of a professional nurse. The position is responsible for monitoring client?s hygiene and ability to perform activities of daily living, monitoring client activities and accompanying those clients requiring supervision to and from activities; transporting clients and/or specimens as needed, and housekeeping activities including client laundry. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS: High School or General Equivalency Diploma, must be a Certified Nursing Assistant, must have or be able to attain CPR and Medication Administration Certifications. Requires valid VA drivers? license with good driving record; must demonstrate good written and oral skill, good interpersonal skills, good organizational and time management skills, the ability to work flexible hours and the ability to work well with other team members. Must have a valid Virginia driver?s license with a safe driving record (no serious or multiple violations).  Candidates who are offered a position are required to provide fingerprints and personal information for a criminal history check as a condition of employment.
