Child and Family Clinical Social Worker

Position Responsibilities:

The Mental Health Services Program for Youth (MHSPY) is seeking qualified candidates for a full-time Clinical Social Worker position in the Greater Boston Area. MHSPY is a community-based non-profit program serving individuals ages 3 through 19 who have persistent symptoms of serious emotional disturbance and are at risk of being placed out of home. MHSPY is an integrative program providing physical health, mental health, and substance abuse services. MHSPY staff work intensively with families of enrolled youth to meet the youth?s needs with the goals of maintaining the child at home, increasing access to community resources, and preventing unnecessary hospitalizations or residential placements.

The Social Worker provides clinical and systems integration for 8 children and their families within an innovative integrated care delivery program. The Social Worker will be responsible for each child include building a strength-based, family-focused, collaborative team which develops and oversees a needs driven plan. The Social Worker works actively with family, children and community representatives on the team to support the implementation of each care plan. The Social Worker functions as catalyst for system of care development through the MHSPY Process in their service community.

Education & Experience:

*Masters Degree and 5+ years of related experience.

* Licensed or license-eligible status required.

* Experience working with community based provider resources is required as is experience providing care to children and/or adolescents with complex care needs.

*An understanding of Medicaid benefits and/or managed care preferred. Cultural sensitivity, bilingual skills and experience with bicultural populations a plus.

*Candidates must have a car to travel within Eastern Massachusetts to conduct home visits and attend meetings.
