Clinical Care Manager-MFT, LPT, LCSW, RN

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess patient's clinical presentation for medical necessity and appropriateness of proposed evaluation/treatment goals. Authorize inpatient and/or outpatient treatment according to company's stated criteria. Clearly and completely document all phone calls and initial reviews, including, but not limited to, diagnosis, symptoms, interventions, goals and plan for next review. Consult with Providers as needed; respond to provider questions with regard to EAP or Managed Care cases. Assess and identify red flag areas with all callers. Stabilize callers that are clinically at-risk and insure the facilitation to the appropriate level of care. Serve as liaison to other departments as needed. Participate in training of other Care Managers as necessary. Complete EAP authorizations as assigned. Perform Risk Management Activities as needed. Attend weekly Administrative and Peer Review Committee meetings. Perform special audits, projects, etc. as required. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Clinical Licensed RN, MFT, LPT or LCSW, Minimum 2 years experience in a psychiatric inpatient or outpatient setting, Chemical Dependency Treatment experience necessary if applicant wishes to be part of CD Treatment Team. Understanding of managed care business principles and practices. Able to perform basic computer keyboard operations. Effective and professional communication oral or written. Able to assess patient's clinical presentation and proposed treatment plans according to company criteria. Able to work with healthcare providers and facilities to determine appropriate level of care of patient.
