Clinical Supervisor

 

This position requires a thorough understanding of medication assisted treatment, the clinic?s philosophy of treatment, the admission process, and admission criteria.  A working knowledge of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is essential.  The individual is responsible for insuring clinical and administrative services are provided for patients and their families.  Must be able to work with minimum supervision.  This is a working supervisor?s position requiring the individual to serve as a working role model for other counselors.  The candidate must also posses? strong professional qualities, multi-tasking ability and detail orientated skills.  Computer usage in MS Office is a must with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Responsible To: Clinic Director

 

Supervision: -- Provided through direct observation

  -- Weekly staff meetings

  -- Review of medical records

  -- Annual performance appraisal

  -- Individual meetings with supervisor

Qualifications:

Bachelor?s degree or above from an accredited college / university with major emphasis in any of the following areas: social work, addiction studies, psychology, sociology, counseling, nursing or a related behavioral health field and appropriate State / licensure certification.  Minimum three years supervised clinical experience in a health or human service agency; one year of which must be directly related to substance abuse treatment.

 

Major duties include the following:

1.  Complies with all Company policies and procedures and responds to supervision.

2.  Maintains a reduced caseload. In the role of Counselor:

A.  Assures incoming patients have a complete psychosocial assessment and interpretive summary according to the timeline in the clinical manual.

B. Complete, with team participation, a Preliminary Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the clinical manual.

C.  Prepare, with team and patient participation, a Comprehensive Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the clinical manual.

D.  Complete a Quarterly Case Consult according to the timeline in the clinical manual.

E. Complete a Treatment Plan Review and update for each patient after completion of the Comprehensive Treatment Plan according to the timeline in the clinical manual.

F. Prepare an aftercare plan for all patients completing the program or being discharged for other reasons.

G.  Follow-up, according the Follow Up Policy and Plan, with each discharged patient.

H.  Provide individual addiction counseling according to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan.

I.  Provide group addiction counseling according to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan.

J.  Provide group Family counseling according to the Comprehensive Treatment Plan.

 

3.  Prepares an annual training plan for each Counselor.

4.  Complies with State/Federal or Certification/Licensure training requirements.

5.  Supervises Counselors and Counselor Assistants to assure timely completion of work and adherence to program policies and procedures.

6.  Provides new hire orientation for Counselors and Counselor Assistants.

7. Provides weekly clinical supervision through documentation of assessment of professional competencies, clinical skills and recommendations through weekly meetings and direct and periodic observation.

8. Assigns emergency on call rotation and participates as needed.

9. Assists with answering agency phones and handles intake and inquiry calls.

10. Assists in supervision of public areas and parking lot.

11. Perform other duties as requested by the Clinic Director.
