Counselor - Substance Abuse

Major Functions:

 

1. Assist clinical and nursing department in performing direct care with

clients including education groups, admission process, random drug

  screens and case management.

2. Document all relevant observations on a daily basis.

3. Supervise the daily functions of clients, i.e. personal hygiene,

  household chores, participation with clinical appointments, etc.

4. Paricipate in monthly staff meetings

5. Assist clients with transportation

6. Supervise and monitor clients participation within 12 step support

  groups.

7. Responsible for the observation and documentation of client's self

  administration of medication

8. Ensure safety within the population to include search of client's

  belongings upon admission, room searches, etc.

 

Qualifications:

 

1.  Must have a valid NJ Drivers License

2 Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

3.  2+ years experience in the behavioral health field

4.  Actively pursing CADC, enrolled in CADC classes

BA and/or CADC preferred
